Winetime Hits a “Hole in One” and “Double Eagle”
When you think of the classic terms “Hole in One” and “Double Eagle”, you immediately relate to them as sayings in the world of golf. In the near future, they will also be included into the language in the world of wine.
We here at Winetime are pleased to announce that 2 drinks that were created by our executive team will be the signature beverages served at the Rocket Mortgage Classic golf tournament to be held June 24th thru June 30th at the historic Detroit Golf Club. This will be the first PGA sanctioned golf event ever to be held in the City of Detroit.
Many months ago, we were contacted by tournament officials asking if it would be possible to create a new beverage that would identify exclusively with the host event. Coming off the heels of the signature drinks we created that were served at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, we accepted the challenge with pride and humility.
With numerous ingredients, lots of mixing, remixing, a pinch here and a dash there, in the end we were able to concoct two beverages we thought would fit the bill. We then put together a small tasting panel of friends who were more than happy to play guinea pig for our new invention. Refreshed and with smiles to boot, the two thumbs up by our panel is all we needed to know that we had a winner on our hands.
Now it was time to find a name for our creations. What better then to use terms used in the game of golf to christen our achievements. Adjectives such as Slice, Bogie, Double Bogie, Duff and Sand Trap were all quickly dismissed, yet in the end, we settled on the two best shots any golfer would love to earn on his or her score card: Hole in One and Double Eagle.
The Hole in One and Double Eagle will be available for purchase at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in select Fan Zone bars and in the Champagne Lounge during the tournament.
Besides being served and featured at the event, Winetime will also be sharing our recipes with restaurants and retailers through the City of Detroit, the State of Michigan and those out of state fans who visit our website. We certainly hope that you try and enjoy our creations, not only during the broadcast of the tournament, but also with friends and family throughout the year.
