2013 Feather Cabernet Sauvignon
If you are a lover of Cabernet Sauvignon, it seems very hard these days to find something of great quality at an affordable price. Who wouldn’t want to taste the precious Cult Cab’s which cost upwards of $100 to $1000. Look far north to the State of Washington which has been producing some of the best unknown quality gems for a number of years. Long Shadow Vintners in Walla Walla are one of its shining stars and their Feather Cabernet an Oscar winning candidate. Inky purple in color, it starts with a menthol eucalyptus nose that leads you to its chewy dark fruit ensemble. Chocolate, violets, smoke and exotic spice notes give way to a huge espresso backbone, finishing with elegant silky tannins. Rich and complex, it’s everything one looks for to satisfy their Cabernet pleasure dome.
