2015 Forchini Old Vine Zinfandel
Posted On May 5, 2019
It’s been years since I tasted this old friend and quite happy with the updated reunion. Culled from 100 year old vines in the Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, the striking deep ruby color and fragrant aroma shows thorny dark berries, blackberry and cherry with black pepper, mint and rich spice notes. Co-fermented with a bit of Carignane, the Forchini winery is on a major hot streak with over 10 straight years of awards and high acclaim for their flagship wine. Hard to find a better zinfandel with higher ratings, not only from myself but from the wine press as well. Excellent quality for the money.
