2015 Giuliano Rosati Valpolicella Ripasso
Posted On December 1, 2019
Born in the vineyards surrounding Verona, Italy, made from the triage of Carvinone, Corvina and Rondinella grapes, this is truly one unique beauty. With up front black cherry, blackberry and plum fruit, there are so many other aspects of this wine that emerge with each and every sip. Clove, herbs, licorice, and spice intermingle with leather, cigar box, balsamic and nutty vanilla flavors, as its traditional raisony essence dazzle throughout. I like to refer to Italian Ripasso wines as a Baby Amarone, only at a third of the price. Paired with hearty fair of lamb, wild boar or Bolognese, harmonious front start to finish, this is sure to please any wine lovers palate.
